September in the South Island

Last month we spent two weeks down south. Here's me and Dadda in the taxi on the way to airport.

And here's Possum, not in our Christchurch hotel room, but in the bath of the Paediatric Ward at Christchurch Hospital. A mysterious sore tummy had us spending the first night there.

Earlier that afternoon, we met up with the Marrs and headed to Sumner for a paddle.

Here are the Mummys basking in the Canterbury sunshine.

The next day we took a look round what remains of Christchurch. We were very impressed with the ReStart Mall.
Poss and I thought this spot as good as any for a sit down.

Then we headed to Akaroa, via the Little River Gallery.

Time to jump back in the car and carry on to Akaroa...

 for fish and chips...

... and some quality family time.

We found this neat old playground on a walk through the bush!

Then it was back to Christchurch to stay with our friends the Speedys.

Here we are with Otto and Fredi.

And here's the whole team in Hamner Hot Springs!

We said goodbye to Hamner and the Speedys and set off to Methven to reunite with the Marrs.

First things first - decorate cupcakes.

Voila!

Then Poss turned her attention to Teddy, and didn't look back.

Teddy was very patient...

... and extraordinarily cute.
Despite appearances, we had a wonderful time!

 That's better!

And then we came home and headed straight into school holidays.

I decided to check out the City Art Gallery.

Till next time! xxx
