We can't believe another year is coming to an end! Orla is now 3 and a half and Sylvie 19 months.
Here are a few pictures from the last couple of months.
Some of you may have seen this one on Facebook in the Spring. We managed to ride tandem all the way to Te Atatu Village and back!
This trip we only made it to the local dairy where a new mural reminds us of our beloved Brixton. A happy parallel!
Spring brought new life, in our case, a birds nest in the feijoa tree right outside the kitchen window.
Summer arrived and heralded the beginning of Athletics training for Orla every Tuesday night.
She shows great enthusiasm and yes, she also appears to have inherited her mother's fine coordination.
Here she is backing up a tug of war.
Spot the Poss.
Poss either joins in...
... watches from the sidelines...
... and always enjoys tidying up afterwards.
The girls have enjoyed watering our fledgling garden....
... then watering themselves!
Our 'citrus grove' has half gone in, and will eventually provide a fragrant and productive backdrop to our flower garden when we get to the landscaping stage.
The vege garden however has already yielded plenty of produce, including these rather marvellous specimens!
The girls are happy and well and luckily for us appear to be devoted to each other...
They've also made some great friends.
This is Hazel Yates who we call Nut for short. She's a great match for our Poss.
Here they are again, this time with another mate, Amelie, looking for goldfish and tiny turtles.
Orla started swimming lessons, in preparation for a long hot summer!
We also spent a gorgeous weekend Hamilton's very own Garden of Eden with Aunt Lizzy, Uncle John and Mac the Dog.
Back to Auckland and the Te Atatu Christmas Parade would see Orla's kindy marching as various characters from Dick Frizzell's 12 Days of Christmas.
Orla and her best friend Lola led their friends as a Pukeko in a Ponga Tree x2
Two Kumara
Three Flax KitsFour HuHu Grubs
Five Big Fat Pigs...
... and so on!
10 Piu Più Swinging.
11 Haka Lessons...
December has been beautifully warm, perfect for ice creams at the beach.
One sleep before Jon's return...
... no sleeps!
... have a cuddle...
... make some compost...
.... and hit the pool.
There have been several Father Christmas sightings - the long queue at Smith and Caughey's well worth the wait.
First we walked through his Enchanted Forest...Then suddenly, an elf beckoned...
... and there he was.
Orla exchanging pressies with best friend Lola...
... and our beautiful Great Great Aunt Flis.
A very very happy Christmas to you all. With lots of love from us Hills xoxo
